What was the last memorable meal you had?

Posted on Dec 15th, 2007 by Lucente : Creative Advocate Lucente
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 10, 2007:

Compiled on Monday, December 10 ... However, zaadz wouldn't take my post then. So, here is it today (even as I am delighting in having electricity once again after the ice storm! Yay!)

Oh, perfect question for me today! It was very simple and served to me in my home. Prepared (reheated) and served by two of my favorite men. The last memorable meal I had? It was last evening; it was homemade vegetable beef soup served with saltines (spread with butter) and a glass of Pom Peach Passion White Tea. I have been "under the weather" for most of the past week; my (much beloved) DH and teenage son have taken very gentle and faithful care of me. My memorable meal was served to me as I sat in the coveted living room recliner, covered with my down comforter — which I shared with my cuddly Bichon. (I shared the recliner — not the memorable meal! ;-)

P.S. I would love to post a photo of the soup, originally mixed and stirred on Saturday. It was colorful and nutritious: diced red bell pepper, minced carrots, steamed spinach, cubed potatoes, chopped onion and garlic — in organic chicken broth and stewed tomatoes. However, after I orchestrated the original batch of soup (above-mentioned men aided and abetted — and added the beef tips!) I was exhausted ... And, all I wanted to do was finish eating my soup so as to resume my horizontal existence. :-]

Ice Dragon

Posted on Dec 16th, 2007 by Lucente : Creative Advocate Lucente
Dragon_limb
I heard you during the still of night;
Cracking and crashing as you moved 'round.

The weight of ice too much to bear;
Weary of the weight, your limbs began to tear.

Cracking and crashing;
Then ... Nothing. Not a sound.

Only the bitter and frigid night's cold;
Until the next move of the Dragon ...

Power of Patience and Time

Patience_and_time
The two most powerful warriors are patience and time. ~Leo Tolstoy

If you ever wonder if "less is more" ... Consider the simple words of the quote I have included for this post. Employing this one principle can change your life.

I have "more" to say which would serve to state the basis for knowing this to be true. However, less is more.

Whatever you are facing today, ask yourself:  Will I let this go, or will I persist is tangling myself up in the details and my vain attempts to control this (person, situation, reality, persistent challenge ... fill-in-the-blank)?

What color is your current state of mind?

Posted on Dec 19th, 2007 by Lucente : Creative Advocate Lucente
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 18, 2007:

Teal
A Cove near Diamond Head, Oahu, Hawaii

My current state of mind is the same color as the ribbon I wear as a survivor-thrivor of ovarian cancer. It is a mingled blend of 1part blue (of calm skies and paceful rest, of island water and coolness) and
1 part yellow (of clarity, of warmth and gentle light).

The current state of my mind is teal.

Hmm, that really depends ...
The Beatles- Here comes the sun

But for the most part ... I am a morning person. Here Comes the Sun ... It's all right ...

Morning

Morning
Going a tad overboard with all the posting ... However, the last question reminded me of a photo I took on an absolutely fabulous morning. And, so, I had to post it here! ;-)
